yaaaahhh... we have movement. muhahhaaaa... Osome dragon! you have plans for it ? the lower leg might be a bit much. still chances of moving it up to the body a little?.. if not set in stone. i had a similar problem asking my factory to help with artwork... circle the dragon for a badge... was told.. "it not a circle"... lol let me know if you need a hand get shyt over the border. not to hard to pop over the border and hook up at lo-wu... if you go that way... and time pending. FC

i can bring that sheet (2x, 4mm steel sheet) across the border in a crate of other lamp parts, and junk, it will blend in perfectly
i'l see what i can do about the symbol, i was thinking of casting it in resin to put on top of flat parts of out guns, can also cast in bronze if u guys want,
BTW ferox, i got a great engraving tool we can do that spitfire you wanted along with loads of stylized writing 4 u on you m4, come up with some safe,semi,auto phrase that would look great in calligraphic writing

f-king osome! what size is it? if we wanted them in a little quantity... i could get it done in pewter... maybe push the moq down to 100 if we lucky. but at cost of cause. what quantity would we be considering? who wants 1 ?? 10..? we could easily add a hook make it a key ring... add magnet for the fridge... add ribbon make it a medal... and i for bet my life it will open a beer bottle... lol. ;D what metal would be best cost efficant? and best to stick onto a m4? shouldn't matter i would think. zinc alloy would be out of the question due to large mold cost and high moq. i guess if its M4 logo size... the leg down is not a big deal. looks fine. arclight and i have already had discussions of attachment... other than bluetak... sanding, glueing and painting would be involved. max size... right side... 52mm long x maybe 45mm high in the middle. left side... 36mm long x 52 high... in the middle what i was planing... but couldn't make up my mine for this or engraving. minds make up now. ;D Big ups to yoni rolling a natural 20 on his initiative. rite now it's a bit big, i wanted to try my hand at carving one. but there's a professional 'carving guy' at the factory and i could ask him to make it much smaller, and round. cast in resin then super-glued to the side of an m4. or i could forward the design to you FC and you could make what you want ;D

that is bloody awesome!
FOR THE EMPEROR!! ;D
hey yoni, FC, have you guys considered turning the O-Dragon engraving/bronze casting into dogtags?
With the member's details engraved on the flip side?
|
|
|
Post by Fightingcock on Jun 15, 2008 22:54:27 GMT 8
yes I sell dogtags. but same old factory MOQ story... i don't want 5000... or even 1k if it was possible. 100 might be consider by me, but a willing factory would be hard to find. and individual members details is not feasible at the factory. other... low moq ideas will get further. FC

why not just get dogtags made with one side stenciled with the
Member's Name [-=O=-] Nickname Blood Type (in case of emergencies) HKID (See above)
=============================
and on the flip side, just a smooth plate... where you glue/solder the OClan Dragon on yourself?
============================
BTW, FC's right, that leg really does need to be trimmed down to fit with the Circular lines...
as now, it looks like a Q instead! lol Prob be ok if you remove the upper leg, lower leg, and just keep the feet/claws tucked up at its belly, or stretched out behind it, following the circular curve!!

Why don't you use the model that you've carved to create a silicone mold, then mold the parts in ABS or something similar? Would reduce manufacturing costs and be easier in general to work with.

ABS plastic ?? would need injection and costly moulding... i think. PVC moulds are small... lol for a 10 or 20 k order... they will make 10 or 20 + moulds i wonder if the MOQ can be pushed down. have a pvc rubber dogtag... lol. anyways... keep dreaming... some will come true FC oh also... for the dragon... i would be best to have the pieces connected. it dosen't need to be like the stencil... and if we want keyrings... or medals... lol.. it would need to be reasonable solid. like the first sample. have a look at the other type of dragons... in the private discussion logo section. ohh.. here... no leg but the flame in raw metal... will only make it look like hes had a bad lunch... lol

you know how that stenciled one has gaps in it?
try filling the gaps with another type of metal... a different colored one/unpolished one.
Silver's pretty cheap and can create a dark-ish black effect if not polished, thus only polish the bits that need to stand out.
or cheaper yet, use: Pewter... wait... is it cheaper, or more expensive... i forget!
If you can make it, I'll buy it... mainly for memories....

i find resin chips too easy, and it lacks the metallic feel!

ok... seriously... how many would we want? i'd have 5 myself... for m4's and what ever... and maybe consider in geting 25 or 30 for an investment in O clan Keyrings. and maybe medals... or maybe medal that comes with an attachment... to make it a keyring after the award ceremony... if you make a thinner resin sample that we would want to use... i could get it to my factory to price up a pewter mould and production. thickness needed... well.. that above samples on my m4 are... 7mm thick... although little hollow on back. but both the 2 above are solid enough for keychain useage. but on the other hand... if your only considering... 1 or 2... i'll have 2 FC

If i may have your permission FC, I'd like a few too... to remember OClan by when we all get older!
In remembrance of the good times, whilst forgetting the bad...

sure... but your few.. and my quarter... so a long way off moq... even if we can get it as low as 100. and even then things could be costly. I think this will be a long term thing... but something to look forward too. FC
