Hypothetically, lets say we have this member who's been around, relatively new but pretty active. Let's assume at least that he's friendly kindhearted and fun. Infact, let's say he has some, perhaps not all, of the following attributes. He's hypothetically happy to lend money to those in need even though he hardly knows some people here, provide support and a kind ear/shoulder, likes to get out, enjoys the sport, wants to make friends, find jobs for people and he organises events on a regular basis so people in the group can come together and have some fun.
So, if he falls within these categories, hypothetically for what reasons could the below hypothetical situations be explained by?
1) Why is he shot maliciously in the safezone by teammates when the game hasn't even started yet, at near to point-blank range, on a regular basis, for no reason other than "for the laughs!"? Say hypothetically...13 times within 8 months? That's maybe 20 games? Hypothetically, since the member has only been here just over a year, it should be considered he would barely know these people, and some of the shooters would have just met him within a week or even the same day, and so can be considered has being complete strangers.
2)For what hypothetical reason, would his teammates have for talking behind his back and saying rather unkind things, even though he's organised all these events and get togethers or has been really friendly, especially when the member is hypothetically under alot of stress, both at the home and in the wallet, and so therefore may not be on his best emotional/psychological form?
3)If the new member was to post in the forum and be met with some really spiteful and cruel rhetoric because the respondents think they know everything, hypothetically do you think the new member will be encouraged to contribute or learn?
4)Would anyone do anything about it if these hypothetical situations were to actually occur in reality, on the street, at the games or in the forums/other mediums of communication?
5)Hypothetically, if this were happening now, do you think maybe the people doing this stuff (say for instance, this guy -> or "rofl") to the member are looking to make enemies?
The short answer to all these might be Assholes. Assholes. No. Hell No. Hell Yes.
Which for point 5, is a shame really, because hypothetically and in reality, the member thought this whole clan was about friends and sportmanship, honour and fun. And if these hypothetical situations were to occur on a regular basis while the member was under a lot of stress, do you think, hypothetically he might be encouraged to quit the group?
And here's the kicker! I can name 6 individual people who have fallen into at least a few of these areas over the past year! And I'll be honest, myself as well.
I myself may at a few times have been guilty of one of these horrible behaviours near the beginning, but only when it was absolutely deserving, because the individual was being an ass to someone else in the first place. These days though, scorn and subtle cruelty seem to fly around the community without any direction or meaning.
So, enough of the bullshot, what's going on? Why do we not only allow this to continue, but in some cases encourage it?
