Just as a matter of interest to anyone who might be wondering...
In O clan we seem to have half a dozen or so Warhammer 40,000 gamers now. For the sake of interest, I thought we could complie a brief, consice list of who games with what and how far along they are.
The list itself will be kept here in the first post. To add your info to the list, simpply post in this thread and the list will be updated.
The list contains a simple key, it works thusly:
Name: {Status} Army - (Condition)
Your name, obviously.
Your army choice, this may be one or more if this is to be the case; in that event simply write as above then add a comma and repeat with additional armies (as seen above).
{Status} is either "Active", "Pre-Active" or "Passive". "Active" means that you already actualy have models and go gaming. Few or many, painted or not, if you have anything then technicaly you are active. "Pre-active" means that you will be starting soon/imminently/eventualy; you have already made decisions to start a particular army, you already have ideas and plans, you just don't actualy have any models yet. "Passive" is the catagory for players who have no models at all and for whatever reason have no intention to aquire any yet and rely entirly on borrowing models to play on a game-by-gam basis but yet still game often enough to call themselves 40k gamers (which is ultimatley your call).
(Condition) relates as a rough guide to how much you have already in terms of battle ready models (completed and painted). This is done by simple rough point size achording to game sizing convention; "500", "1000", "1500", "2000", "2000+". There is an additional catagory of "Sub 500" which is a general catagory to any number of models which number less then the 500 point mark, that is to say, not enough to field a force purly of your own models.
Beneath the list there is a secondary list which allows individual players to add specific notes should they wish. Perhaps you wish to imbelish on what you have or your plans to aquire in the new future or maybe gaming preferences or any other notes you wish to share. This is purly optional.
Thusly, this resource allows people to tell at a glance how many of us are gamers and what kind of gamers we are. So with further ado, here we go...

Beyond what Arclight recommended, I think things should be kept unmentioned so as to prevent sneaky intelligence gathering and pre-emptive "cheese smelling" army lists.
That being said, anyone having questions should feel free to post their thoughts up on list/army ideas.
Fludblud may also be joining but that depends...
I also collect Ultramarines and will get getting Imperial Guard as well soonish. I have like 6000 points of models coming up. 1500 for Orks, 3000 for Ultra and then approx 2000+ for IG.
Finally, Alex is the guy you met last time, he plays there with us and is the one who organises it so it's not really an Oclan event, more just a relaxed social gathering. He plays Chaos, Ultra, some Eldar and I think that's it...
But good to get a list down. Anyone here should just feel free to head down and look around the store in Wan Chai, you can easily borrow an army from the store and play someone there if you ask nicely, though generally it's requested you bring your own and have about 80% of it painted, especially for tournaments.
Also it's a total bitch to carry an army down for someone to borrow, so if you do, restrict yourself to 500 point games so you don't break their back while they haul around two tonnes of lead and plastic so you can play. And buy something freaking soonish!
That reminds me: Tuesday is veteran's night, you can always find someone to play against but be prepared. Saturdays and Sundays are the busiest otherwise but you can always find someone there to play against if no one else is free.

I said nothing of army lists; that would be a bad idea, as yes, such info is sensative; all we want here is force size. All I suggest we list is the kind of stuff that is open info; who you play as and how big a force you can put on the table. The kind of basic info you get for, say, a tournemant participant. Only a rough idea so we know who can do what, in the vaguest of terms. For the purposes of invitations to games, proposed pairings for games, who to go to for advice, etc. Ferox: The list is only very simple, it says only your current status really. If your active, you state the point size of your force that is available for play right now. If you have models pending completetion, they don't count on the list. But, they can be mentioned in the notes section. So ferox, if you please, list what you can play with now. Orks I know, but how much you got ready, sub 500? OF COURSE, for anyone, this is purly optional. You don't have to be on the list, and if you do, you don't have to give any details you don't want. If that is the case, simply post to that effect (i.e. Name - Army, thats all I want to say).

Yeah, I know you didn't mention anything, it was a point I brought precisely because of that. I can play with all my army pretty much. Everything is ready. I'm not going to get to pedantic with anything, I post up what I can play with.

Alright, added; but as model arrival is still pending, I'll leave you as passive for now okay?
Well, unless you actualy plan to have them shipped over for sure, in which case, I can switch you to pre-active if you prefer, it's your call.

Currently got about 1-1.5k of eldar, although its a mixture of my own stuff, stuff borrowed until further notice mostly from Alex and a few from ferox. I've got them at my place and I carry them to the store myself, and I've signed up for a locker. I'll probably be expanding my personal stuff greatly once I get my first paycheck.
So technically I'm pre-active, but I've been playing about 1-2 gaming sessions a week for the last month, so in practice I'm currently 1000 points eldar active.
Also, people don't need to paint 80% of their models to play, only really for tournaments. You can stick them together and play with them straight off unpainted, or use proxies / count as. i.e. "I don't have the model, but this space marine over here with the stripe on his head counts as my heavy weapon dude, and he's got a heavy bolter, and that guy who's kneeling over there is my force commander with two lightning claws.". Proxies and counts as are used very judiciously in casual games at FA, (as in their very loose about it). Obviously, it is kinda of annoying if you constantly build a different style of min maxed army list to raep your opponent without using any models of your own or whatever, and its better if you can use your own fully painted models, buts its okay as long you don't make a long term habit of it, or just want to test some new tactics.
I've spent quite a while casually reading on an internet board that often has 40k discussion, so I'd like to think to could give decent advice on most armies.
