Do you guys recommend the 5-7 if I didn't like the grip feel of the Tokyo Marui Mk23? I think they look similar...

grow a bigger hand! lol why dont you like the mk23 grip? it's hard to recommend you to or against the 5-7 if i dont know what it is about the mk23 you dont like the feel of... sure the mk23 doesnt have a small grip, but neither does the 5-7. if the size is your problem... there's no way around it but to get a bigger hand... the 5-7 uses the same round as the p90 so it'll have a long mag. my hand's more like average sized. i wear medium gloves over in the UK and medium to large for wiley X gloves so i dont consider myself to have big hands at all. i've actually spent a few days with a 5-7 and the grip's fine for me... but i think you should elaborate a little more on the 'grip feel' part of your question

I can't really put my finger on it i think it's just a tiny tiny bit too big, the mk23, but now that I think of the problem, I think it's the slow fire rate. (long trigger pull) I also think the mk23 feels clunky..

the TM mk23 has a long trigger pull because it's a non blowback that is also a double action trigger mech. the mech is infact not efficient in the hammer pull and release, hence the long and harder trigger pull...
the 5-7 cant be compared to this since the tm 5-7 is a blowback, single action trigger mech... it's a light (not as light as race guns or 1911s) trigger and is much much shorter than the double action. so if the rate of fire is an issue, well... the 5-7 doesnt have a 2mile long trigger pull and neither does it have a 8tonne stroke lol
but if it really is the grip being too big... there's nothing anybody can do to help you on that buddy...
if you really do like the 5-7, buy it and ask questions later... they sell faster than limited edition gold plated pearl laced moon cakes during the mid autumn festivals

I got my dirty hands on a Five Seven recently at the glorious price of 10,800 Japanese yen, that's $105 USD or so.
It is an excellent pistol in almost all respects. The grip takes some getting used to. It is huge and it's hard to get that super comfortable single stack 1911 feel. But the magazine is huge and that means less cooldown.
The accuracy is really unbelievable since it has almost no wobble in the barrel assembly which, BTW, is all metal, a first from Tokyo Marui.
Only gripe is I am not sure whether or not it can handle green gas. The slide is reinforced, but with plastic not metal like on the real steel. I would kiss the feet of any company that does a nice CNC aluminum endoskeleton for the slide. Also a 130-150% recoil spring would be nice.
Get one if you don't mind using duster gas with it.

@type85: take the slide off and look inside it seems to have a 2 part slide... the inner slide is kinda metallic to me... can you confirm it's metal on the inside?

Yeah when I first looked at it I thought it might be metal too. But alas it's ABS.
The inner barrel and the ejection port are metal though. I think the reinforcement was just to increase the weight of the slide and to make it look more like the real steel even when taken down.
As far as I understand stupid Japanese law (as if there is any other kind) any sort of metal reinforcement on pistol slides and frames is illegal.
If only Marui did what KSC does and make a non-Japanese version of their guns for the rest of the world...
