Hey people!
I am a long time airsofter that will be on the ground in Hong Kong later this month. I'm 24 and a grad student at City U.
I live in Japan now actually, but I'm originally from the US.
Being a Chinese American, I speak both English (a native level) and Mandarin (not native unfortunately). I also read and speak Japanese more or less fluently and fully intend to learn Cantonese ASAP.
Your team was recommended on the Redwolf site so I guess there is some good reason. I look forward to attending your games!
Just some questions for those who know the HK airsoft scene well:
Japan has a lot of annoying and pointless airsoft laws that HK doesn't have. Once I get to HK I need to upgrade so I would like to know four things:
1. I use a VFC SR16 and a RS Type 97. Both I consider field guns. What springs should I have in them? M120? more? less?
2. my backup pistol is a TM Glock 17. I already have the recoil spring upgraded to a Nineball fast recoil one. For a CNC aluminum slide and outer barrel what is a good place to buy where the staff are friendly and speak English?
3. I also have a TM Five Seven (thing is amazing BTW). I plan to hold off on using green gas on it until I get a reinforced aftermarket slide (whenever a good one comes out). In the meantime I need to use duster gas. Where can I buy good cheap duster? Do they sell them in bulk anywhere?
4. Hong Kong is super hot and humid. Here in Tokyo a plate carrier during a game is a one way ticket to heat exhaustion in the summer. How many of you all actually have more than a T-shirt during an outdoor summer game? Are there enough cool months in a year to make a plate carrier worth it?
That's about it for now. I look forward to any thoughts and suggestions! See you all hopefully in a future warzone!
