Ok, so the new M249 is in the works, in the mean time I'm trying to wok something out and so I thought I might as well post this to see if anyone has anything useful to advise. So, here's the dealio... ...the M249 has an EG 1300 Eagle Force Hammer Motor, Systema metal gears and a 170 PDI spring; which is great, but that means that I have to keep the fire in tight bursts (15-25 rounds at a time) otherwise I run a good chance of damaging and even flat out stripping the gears. So, thusly, I decided that I would have (at least) two different springs which I would swap between depending on wheather I needed power or volume fire. So, I will get myself another spring of lower power but the question is exactly how much? First and formost, this secondary spring is supposed to be my safe configuration with the idea being that I could maintain sustained fire for long periods of time without having to worry about gear damage, that said, of course I don't want to comprimise the power more then I have to. Thusly I need to find a spring that allows the maximum amount of power without risk of damaging gears on full auto (i.e. potentialy, streams upwards of 50-100 shots). I have been recomended to get a 130 PDI Intruder spring which could well be the solution I'm looking for but I just thought that there's no harm in asking for further info from other opinions; no harm in too much info now is there?
