Hello Everyone! I have a Tanaka M700 AICS- i really need some help as regarding its performance! Reasons being: 1. Accuracy is out of the window 2. On some days, when i fire, the gun makes an odd 'poof' sound and the BB may not even reach 10 meters! (Baring in mind it's run on red gas?) 3. I would like to say that if anyone has any knowledge of these- i would seriously like some info on parts/upgrades to try and fix it. 4. if any of you guys know a person who does some serious custom works with guns i would really love a hook-up! Thanks very much,
Killershrew

hey Killershrew... might i ask who you are?
I know of ppl who can help you with your gun, but i'll need your rL name and number, cause i cant just go around giving their numbers to you.
Misfiring Issue: your hop-up may be set too high and is blocking the barrel enough to disallow fluid movement of the BBs to exit... *remember to turn your hop-up off (set to neutral) after every game*
Gas Issue: Red Gas or green gas, if your mag is too cold, the gas inside will not expand enough to allow your gun to fire properly, same with GBB pistols, smg and shotguns. What you need to do is to ensure that your mags are well warmed b4 use, and you should be able to experience a steady firing distance/velocity as well as accuracy.
As to why your gun makes an odd 'poof' sound, the o-ring in your mag may be loose or missing, and needs replacement/maintenance. If you are certain that the o-ring is still in place, then spray a generous amount of gun silicon into the nozzle of both the mag, and the receiving end of your gun.
Your accuracy issue: Your internal barrel may be loose, and needs tightening. The Tanaka M700 AICS has a technical issue that makes it very difficult to modify, and the parts to mod it are few and hard to find.
General Tips 1. Make sure you've set your hop-up correctly, if it's set too high, you can experience a loss in range, as well as accuracy. Make sure to turn your hop-up off after every use. 2. Zero your gun in a location where you have long ranges and little or no wind. 3. Your mags must be kept warm prior to use otherwise the gas inside will not expand, and may cause your gun to fire inaccurately or not at all. 4. Clean your gun periodically, making sure you've cleaned the barrel as well as re-oiled it (VIP to keep your gun clean). If you happen to be playing a game once a week, clean your gun every 2 weeks; if only once every 2 weeks, then clean it every 3 weeks. If you dont use it at all, then clean it once a month. 5. If you're using a scope, make sure you loosen the sight adjustments after every game, this will help in the overall health of your scope. 6. Make sure to fire atleast 10 rounds through your gun once a month (and i dont mean to fire it 10 rounds on the 31st of Jan, and fire off 10 rounds on 1st of Feb!!).
Hope this helps

Here's how you can fix the issue:
1) Buy a Gspec or a Gspec clone. 2) Never buy a gas based sniper rifle again.
