Hey lads! If i were to get an A&K M249 Para, would i be able to stick a battery box on the side which would hold the large type batteries and wire it through without 'loving' up the internals and fuses while fireing in a game? I ask this as it occoured to me that a Mini battery would not last long enough for a days shooting and stuff? Help wanted!!!! ;D cheers, Sam

You don't really need a large, I just use minis, they're fine. I have a second spare just in case, but I haven't needed it that often really (and thats really saying somthing, considering how highly modified my rate of fire is).
If you want to though you can fit a nun-chuck type battery in a large PEQ style box (china made, $100), that should last all day no problem.
As for where to put the box, stick it on the front (somehow, I don't know, mine sits on my rail system). Wiring is in the front anyway so re-wiring to extend out of the front into a side box isn't that hard.
Your main issue is how to attach the box snug and secure.

The only RIS for the 249 I know of is the CA and it's $495 x2 (upper and lower portions sold seperatley, I'd suggest the upper one for a side mounted box).

...yeh sounds good- i might go fro the spare battery option, but then again.... a RIS rail system would look kick ass- like that M249 in the photos section. anywho, i'll do a bit more research- cheers guys! ;D

Never tried a stock M249 on a lipo; the gun could take it I'm sure, I'm just don't think the feed system could keep up.

I've seen a performance test on youtube (dunno the actual addy) which shows a G&P 9V 1300Mah battery and the rate of fire is just what i want, it also fits in the grip too so i dont have to bother with the Peq battery box!!

goodluck gettign the bbs to feed!! what if i just took short bursts? i think then the feeding system should be able to keep up! even then you'll be firing several blanks... you might get the first couple to feed, but you'll be stuck with major feedign problems, until you can figure a way to match the load speed with the firing speed. my suggestion is to change out the ammo feeder's motor, with a Tamiya high-speed motor.. that should do it... never tried it myself though... But then you'd need to hcange the loader's batteries every so often cause those little bastards really suck the juice out of batteries!
