That is beautiful - but it looks toooooooo clean.
Drag it around on some concrete or something.

battle scars are earned on a weapon not made... making it look old feels like buying medals and ribbons for a uniform

she's earned her fair share of marks, just not the wood (cos it's new), and the marks on the plastic didnt show anyway

yoni.... you sure you finished la... www.youtube.com/watch?v=ihk3BHXu4S4 Proceed at you own risk... and if you do...expect your GB to die... a little earlier... but would look so kool! ;D oh... and I found this above link while investigating a kiwi project still under construction... below although... this wouldn't match you ww2 kit. well.. you could always get a new loadout. eg : load out = 3 piece pinstripe suit, cigar, and fedora or bowler hat FC

the problem with that is that it has MANY innacuracies to the real chicago typewriter. the only way i would do that is with the CAW m1928 kit for the cap gun and mossing it to fit the TM.
the innacuracies are: (front to back) 1. no cutt's compensator at the muzzle, 2. barrel isnt fin cooled, 3. bolt is wrong shape, 4.bolt should be at the top, 5. rear sight guard should be rectangular, 6. rear sight should be tangent sight, not pinhole/V shape, 7 lower reciver is wrong shape (esp front, mag release), 8. magazines should insert sideways, 9. rear stock is wrong shape.
i am quite the perfectionist when it comes to details like trades manufactururing techniqes (aesthetically) , method of trade application, finish quality. i'm actually quite peeved at the Tokyo Marui trades on the M1A1 and i really wish the lower reciver was metal too.
TBH the chicago typewriter thompson and the M1A1 thompson are entierly different gins alltogether internally (the real things), many, many modifications were made to the thompson to convert it from police use to be adequete for wartime use, including many simplifications of internals, magazine manufacture and detail manufacture. For example the chicago typewriter had a finned barrel for cooling (having a 50 round drum mag neccessitates it) and a cutts compensator, but since they werent vital they were left out of wartime manufacture.
EDIT: i will, however be doing that bolt mod

Is that a wood kit for your M1A1??? There are color differences between the stock and grips.

the one in FC's pic is the chinese made chicago typewriter vertical front grip. The grain is all wrong, it's made from the wrong type of wood and the real ones were made from the wood near branches of trees so that the grain flowed with the grip

THIS JUST IN: apparently there's a chinese front set now with finned barrel and cutt's compensator, along with the correct chicago typewriter stock, no word about a reciver tho

i just got some pics of real m1a1s converted from Chicago typewriters for WWII, will post them when i get access to a card reader since still am in israel there are quite a few differences from the real thing and the pictures on the net, the hudson and mgc cap guns, and the real ones are much, much, much more rough and have many variations from gun to gun. QC is out the window and i notices the fire selectors are much cooler on the real thing EDIT done some more research and it seems there were many inconsistencies in manufacture, the stock that is on the tokyo marui also appeared in many of the m1928 thompsons and most thompsons made during WWII were actually manufactured with the wood furniture that similar to that in my pictures (to come later)
