My first AK... and i had to go and get an expensive and heavy Damu metal and wood ak Kit. All i had to add was a V3 gearbox... hop-up unit + rubber and barrel. and with little help from my friends... hacksaw and drillbit (chris and Noa) its at 99% constructed bar... one finally missing peice... the button. the ak button that you hit to open the main cover to get to the battery compartment. let me know if any one has one floating around spare. i still want to add a "finish" to make it an "aged" ak. i'll add some pics during... after aging. AF sell the guarder/TM compatible one for about 35-45hkd i have one frmo a tm here, and can also get hold of a few clone receiver catches from here but it'd cost you more than 50hkd to post it by itself will have to see how it looks when you show the pics

FC, to weather it properly:
1) Tie a string around the front sight.
2) Drag it over concrete in loads of different directions.
3) Done.

lol... thx golaith method considered... and although the damu kit is probably one of the stronger made kits... I think your method should be left to real steel... or airsoft i not want... or want to sell for a good price... other methods currently under consideration... the goldilocks method.. and the little bottle of silver paint method. goldilocks being the better finish... but wearing down the protective coating on the metal and opening the option for rust. silver paint could be the best idea... although little cost. i little more fidlly to do... but would leave the metal protection intact. then again... a little rust... could make it look that more realistic,,, lol. but i'ld rather not. anyways... button first. i'll try AF... thxs ninja FC

yes... Guarder does a AK upper receiver button for $50 retail at AF thxs Ninja. firstly to finish... I attached button...... and upper receiver. then front set received a holed drill into front set... and outer barrel... and added a nub screw to secure front set... and then finally... aged. tryed.. and failed the with goldilocks method... then went with wire brush instead. and soon leant... its very easy to over age it... but still... for my first attempt... I like it! anyways... a few pics... before.. and after... not that theres that much differance. tryed to match the lighting in pics... but not quite. oh.. the other ak is just for comparison...as its also real wood and metal.. and brand new... cyma oh... dragon just put in cause... it was handy... and I can. Twinked the iron sights... Thxs Noa oh.. the drum is mint.. and un-aged will leave that for the new owner to ruff up at will. camera doesn't really do it justice. you really need to feel the weight... and texture... its still a little patchy... but hey.. its supposed to be a little randomly worn. and now... Cronoed at.. 1.98 joules... cough cough... tis 4 sale... $2500 cause... i don't really want to sell it.. but.... "have too" ;D FC

"Twink" I think referring to Tippex/White-out liquid for pen marks. It's to highlight the rear leaf sight's numbers to white I've tippex'ed HK and AK marks and it looks great~ You're welcome FC~
