As long as the original poster doesn't mind. Afterall, conversations are meant to evolve and change. Else it's too annoying to stop half way and open up ANOTHER thread Your dream gun is progressing along Someone come up with a good mod we can do on the G36C!!!

"Your dream gun is progressing along"
Good, lol.
"original poster doesn't mind"
Well I suggested in one of my other posts making it a seperate thread, though decided to modify it out in the end. Didn't want to sabotage my first thread before it began. Might as well keep the flow going.
As for the G36c... Up the power, attach a grenade launcher, attach an smg, get obli stuff written into the body work... what else could we do?
We could go for a colour scheme? Paint it tiger stripe camou, go with the uniforms? Don't know if paint would last too well being handled in HK terrain though?
Tiger stripe guns would be frikken awesome.

actually, secert camo that we're creating is uber ;D it pwns I'm inspired by you guys If only I was as pro-active XD What about those battery wrapper material that shrinks when heated? I saw jimmy use my hair dryer on said wrapping when he was re-doing a friends battery pack; I think if you can find ways of printing on that sort of material, there's a chance you can "shrinkwrap", for example, heat shields, grips and things that are small individual pieces. Just a thought, really... ======= obviously, you can simply airbrush with some sort of mesh/stencil that is selectively blocked up or something.

"simply airbrush with some sort of mesh/stencil"
I approve this notion, this doesn't sound to painful / difficult / expensive, and could be a nice nod to saying this is an Obliterator's gun. Which would be cool.
I'm not familiar with this shrink wrap stuff, i'll talk to Fer / Noa about it later.

lol we're only going to end up spoofing every known arms manufacturer... "plastic storm" X3 /leaves before ban ========== magiaz = ask jim when you see him on the 8th or something. In the "battery factories" right after they wire up and solder the individual cells together, they require a "sausage skin" Place cells inside plastic sleeve and blow hot air onto/over/through it and it'll shrink. I suppose you'll have to see it done first... www.batterystation.com/shrinkwrap.htmwas looking on youtube, but no luck. www.amainhobbies.com/product_info.php/cPath/221_226/products_id/4418========= was going to say something else... but... just saving up so I can follow suit and jump on the band wagon of O clan projects

i know a guy in china who does water layered transfers on plastic parts, printed transfers are floated on water and then the part is dipped onto the transfer. the method is used to make Xbox 360 faceplates so i think it would stick pretty well... Considering the technique: printing out stickers, if it isnt too expensive i'll let you know if it's plausible. his comapny is called NAKI: www.naki-world.com/look at the ps2 controllers, can get pretty detailed patterns on the controllers.

Isn't that what we do in modelling? airfix spitfires anyone? It's cheap for sure And doesn't involve and techy stuff, no solvents or glues, no brains... just still hands. remember, most surfaces of guns are not your shiny, polished surfaces. Most are now rubberised or "worked" finishes like the MP5 receiver, M4 crane stock, pistol grip patterns... I suppose AKs are fine You can't transfer "decals" onto certain places... so I guess it's slightly limited.

Plus the decals will come off easily with the rough and tumble of skirmishing.

adds to the character.
most paint comes off with time and with minor contact with whatever anyway.
krylon for example... even the most 'gucci' spec ops use it in the battle field... they dont last at all. they dry quick and it's not very reflective. but its still being used.
and we're all trying to cut costs down so most other processes that protect the paintwork/lenghten the life of the artwork/decals will be void...
specially these things are made in little numbers so that 'special' techniques will be expensive.
p.s. if ralf says its good.. it must be.

no this is different, the afrix spitfires, models, use transfers, this is a different sort of decal that is more like staining the plastic. has anyone ever seen the playstation/xbox controllers with spidermam/superman/batman/what-have-you designs on them. it's much more permenant and we can give it a protective clearcoat

www.hardcoil.net/airsoft/index.htmlthis guy is rather clever, he has a logged diary for that gun linked above. Vikings, I swear... ======= Shall we all make an O-gun for the next O-clan anniversary? /joins up

Yes, and what days the anniversary? Souped up G36c's ftw. A final decision / consensus would be good, also a cost estimate, then anyone who wants one can get one on the day. A pre-order system then dishing them out on the day would be awesome.

OICW? I want to make this in Dec when I get back. HF and I put it together as a concept but with realistic factors in mind. China F2000 + G36c F2000 trigger rewired to be an electronic trigger.

Yeh, I thought about that too; other then the obvious amount of work required, one major issue that springs to my mind is making sure the forward and backward "assemblies" are secure enough to stay parralel and level on all axis and remain secure and no wobble after alot of use. I suggest making the 36 the low power high rof weapon and stick a drum on it; make the over system the long barrel high power sniper system. And add a launcher, of course.

Yes. The sides of the gun will look ugly, but lookin' at the OICW, might as well put plastic cards/thin metal plates on the side to make it flat. Screw the top and bottom assemblies on so it won't wobble. Whether I have the creative power to make it aestheticly pleasing is a completely different matter eh I think it's very possible to make this gun.
